ABOUT

Hevoke is the creative imprint of filmmaker and writer Heath Chio. His work is shaped by an enduring interest in tragic beauty, the quiet grace found in moments of loss, denial, and emotional reckoning.

Working primarily in psychological horror and thriller, Heath approaches genre symbolically rather than literally. Fear in his films is rarely what it appears to be. Figures and events function as representations of inner states, unresolved trauma, or psychological fracture. Horror becomes a language through which internal conflict is made visible.

His stories favour restraint, atmosphere, and performance over explanation, allowing meaning to surface through behaviour, repetition, and silence. Tragedy is treated not as spectacle, but as something intimate and human, often emerging from the failure to confront what lies within. Heath is currently completing his debut feature film, The Red String, now in post-production.
