Hevoke is the creative imprint of filmmaker, writer, and actor Heath Chio. His work is shaped by an enduring interest in tragic beauty—the quiet grace found in moments of loss, denial, and emotional reckoning.

Working primarily in psychological horror and thriller, Heath approaches the genre symbolically rather than literally. Fear in his films is rarely what it appears to be; figures and events function as representations of inner states, unresolved trauma, or psychological fracture. Horror becomes a language through which internal conflict is made visible.

His stories favor restraint, atmosphere, and performance over explanation, allowing meaning to surface through behavior, repetition, and silence. Tragedy is treated not as spectacle, but as something intimate and human, often emerging from the failure to confront what lies within.

 

As a Singaporean creator and Australian PR, Heath bridges distinct cultural perspectives to craft deeply atmospheric, cross-cultural cinema. His debut feature film, FACE—a Singapore-Australia co-production utilizing an entirely Australian crew and post-production team—is currently being submitted to international film festivals. Mirroring his deeply holistic approach to cinema, Heath serves as the executive producer, screenwriter, editor, and lead actor for the film.
